YouTube Find: Andre Leon Talley and Ralph Rucci Interviewed by Robin Givhan

I love watching a good fashion documentary.. You may assume every fashionista would tell you the same but some like to look at or wear fashion more so than to research it. I love watching and being in good fashion conversation. I also like how Givhan is interviewing Rucci (who I embarrassingly had to google) and ALT is kind of there to give his Vogue two cents. One part that I found interesting was when Givhan asked Rucci and ALT about the important bridge between fashion and celebrity, I found his answer to be interesting.. and probably why I sadly did not know who he was but that's what YouTube is for right. Enjoy!

DIY: Ripped Shorts

For the past few weeks I have been on the hunt for perfect ripped denim short for summer. I looked everywhere but never were the right length or had the right fit or the were not as distressed as I wanted them to be. Then on my day off I was thinking about it (I usually think about clothes on my downtime) and decided to cut up a pair of jeans I knew I didn't need and wouldn't wear again.  So I cut them and tried to make them as distressed and faded as I possibly could but, I still didn't have the rips that was looking for. I did what any 23 year old would do when they had a question about the world.. I YouTube'd it!
How to get the perfect rips!

After washing them they looked more distressed ;)

Finished Product! Side note: I little shorter than I would have wanted.. Hopefully they stretch!

Here is the video I referenced from. Enjoy!

Porsche Design show F/W NYFW

Side note: Embarrassingly enough I did not realize that the two standing on either side of Kelly Rowland were Nelson Mandela's grand children. So when I hurried to get a picture with Kelly Rowland (the die hard Destiny's Child fan that I am) I asked her to politely "Excuse me". Not realizing who she was, when I found out she was Nelson Mandela's grand daughter I felt terrible... Considering it's black history month.

Dior Fall 2011

John Galliano defintely dissapointed basically Everybody! Basically commited career suiside with his disturbing anti-semetic video.. Ending it with "I love Hitler". I don't think there is anything worse you can say as a designer. The question is, is his career over? Many would say yes with out even thinking about it but I dissagree! John was the best ! It's sad that his talents are now going to be wasted because of the nonsense he said..
